chinese new year n the past week
a festive celebration which starts tomorrow - 29 jan 06.
To me , this holiday serves as a break for me after a whole month of studying and my teacher said that it was also a time of reflection on the month's work. i have really been blessed with alot of angbao - having received some money when i was told to give a teacher 2 oranges ( which were provided by the school ) And God have blessed me ... so i see this approach of receiving angbao as a blessing from God coz all things come from God and they belong to Him! So we should thank God. And i am not really enthusiastic abt receiving a huge sum of money- how much does this relative is going to give you etc. The thing is about your heart, if you look at it through God's perspective, every dollar, every cent really comes from God and we ought to thank God for His wonderful provision!
Well, receive each angbao with a joyful heart and don't despise that this relative gave u so little .... and i'm glad God guided me through well this week..
1. Most classes had class tests this week and my class did not had any. Thank God that it doesn't spoil my mood 4 chinese new yr.
2. Thank God for the amount of homework ( not alot ) for this break.
3. Though i was really upset of closing down of the Prefectorial Board and the merger of Students Leaders Council. I hope that it will bring up potential leaders ( be it prefects, CCA leaders as well as chairman of the class etc.). I felt that i and the rest of the prefects were really 'demoted' coz of the fact that we didn't have to wear the superial red tie and maybe we had to wear the blue tie.
4. Thurs nite- band bbq. My band had organized a band bbq and it all went well... good.... but the attendance was really poor. [ Jiffsen ( who initiated the idea )wasn't present! ] and some went swimming and some sang some songs..i carried 5 bottles of coke ( 7.5litres) all the way to Loyang Valley , and missed one bus stop and sauntered all the way to the condo. About the bbq... Hock Lu was really the sausage manager and after a while he and Aloysius Neo left... while Luke, Timothy and Zachary came later. The chicken drumstick ( big ) was huge and it was barbequed for 1h 10 min ( outside burnt, inside uncooked ) . They had to peel and cut it . I was playing and throwing the chicken and also the satay was in irregular shape when it was brought.Sheng Yi brought tennis (as well as Terence ) rackets and he lost a tennis ball . Playing in a court with fence surrounding it, there was really no way how Jason could hit the ball until it really went missing .And i heard 1 ball cost$1.80 . well, sang some songs and played catching. well, hope there will be some kind of band outing like that ... but with better attendance. ( thks to santhosh for organising it so well ... and he managed to resolve things that were really last minute ! )
